Religious Persecution Goes Unreported

Since 1979, when Iran became an Islamic republic, the peaceful adherents of the Baha’i faith have faced systematic and government mandated persecution.
This persecution has made it virtually impossible for young Baha’is to receive education or gain employment and, on October 18, the Islamic Government of Iran jailed seven educators from the nation’s only Baha’i-friendly university for the crime of practicing their faith.
Despite the ongoing infringements of basic human rights, the religious tensions remain largely unreported in Western media. read article »
